How long is a therapy session?

The “counseling hour” is typically 45-55 minutes in length and I use the last 5-15 minutes to complete necessary session documentation or paperwork.

How many sessions will I need to attend?

There are no minimum number of sessions take place in therapy. Rather we identify if your goals are met.  The number of sessions varies depending on how long the problem has existed, the level of support you have, your motivation, and the therapist’s interventions.  You have a right to end therapy at any time.

What are my payment options?

I am able to bill some insurance companies, for mental health services. If you do not have health insurance or do not wish for me to bill your insurance, you have the option to self-pay for sessions. Please contact me to discuss your options.

Do you accept my insurance?

I am in-network with:

Aetna
Blue Cross Blue Shield
Kansas Medicaid (Aetna Better Health of Kansas, Sunflower/Cenpatico, United/Optum)
Tricare
United

If your insurance is out-of-network, I can help you bill your insurance by providing documentation to submit to your insurance.

Do you offer evening and weekend hours?

Occasionally, I will have evening hours available.

Can I cancel my therapy session?

Yes, please give a minimum of 24 hours notice to cancel your scheduled session. Since a scheduled session is an agreement between you and I, you may be charged a late cancel fee if less than 24 hours is given.

Are you accepting new clients?

I will be taking new clients in January of 2023.

What is online therapy?

Online therapy or teletherapy is a way to have your therapy over your computer or phone. Here is some additional information here.
